Dwarf Marines: Veterans update
Just a little post, today. After blue-tacking the test together for my company veterans I decided to have at it and glue one together.
The first Company Veteran
Still some tidy up to do on the gun muzzle and the helmet.
I had shortened the front section of the bolter (which still needs a little clean up) to fit better with the Veteran, something I will be implementing from here on with all other miniatures. As you can see the backpack is missing... this was initially because I didn't have any spare laying around, but I have since decided that I want to remodel one that I found to make it more in keeping with the army.
We now have a Captain
That's right, there is now a Captain model for the entire army. I liked the Veteran test so much that it seemed the right thing to do... that and I wanted to make one for no other reason than I wanted one.
The first Dwarf Marine Captain.
Meet Captain Thorinius (yes, I did call him that) in all his diminutive glory. There are still some bits to do including some filling and filing, but apart from the backpack he's almost there.
For some reason the small skull seemed to fit as some kind of relic.
The obligatory Aquilla and purity seal added to the shield.
Thorinius was put on a 32mm base instead of the 25mm bases all the other stunted heroes have been put on. I think it may have to be a standard moving forward so that they can be easily distinguished from the others on the table... and also to show off their importance.
That's it for this quick little post. I may put together some more veterans this evening while winding down from todays packing and tidying. Catch you all in the next update.
