Dwarf Marines: ... and so it begins!
So, with the release of the 9th edition SM codex I new some changes would have to be made. Originally my combat patrol consisted of the following at a cost of 501pts in 8th edition:
1x Lieutenant
1x tactical Squad
1x Scout Squad
1x Dreadnought
1x servitors
1x Razorback
From my initial look at recreating my combat patrol for 9th it would cost me 495 points for the same team minus the servitors. The annoying thing about this is that I had already put the servitors together for the force.
4 servitors for the Dwarf Marine unit converted from a core model from my Breaching the Rift range.
A mild annoyance, but one i can deal with. I had already started painting the combat patrol (plus an extra Tartaros squad) prior to getting the codex so I may as well continue.
Getting Painting
Getting the base coats on.
As you can see the progress has been slow, but then I'm also moving home (at the end of the week that I wrote this) and a lot of my time has been taken up with casts for clients and packing... so, painting has had to take a back burner until I get settled in the new place.More Transports
The only other development has been that I finally got enough bits together to construct a second Razorback using the same kit as the one in the combat patrol. The RT Rhino I used was pretty beaten up and missing huge sections on the sides, but using the kit I managed to salvage it. I took some pictures of the progress as I did it, so I may create a post solely about that. It was quite fun to do actually. Taking a near unredeemable model and making it into something that looks like it was a new build.
For now that's it, so I shall head off back to my packing and catch you all in the next update.
